Oiled cutting board behind a hand plane

Cutting Board

Learn how to use woodworking machines with a group of new friends. Over four sessions, everyone works together to produce strips of hardwood to laminate into a cutting board. After the first lamination is complete, the project will be planed smooth and sanded. Next it is shaped with the bandsaw and spindle sander. Small projects like this allow students to use machines and hand tools for a good overview of basic woodworking techniques. Ideal for beginners, this class allows students to decide which next courses to take in their woodworking journey.
