MATERIALS: Selection of hardwoods
TOOLS: Lathe, gouges, grinder
EXERCISE: 8” Plate and 5” Bowl
PREREQUISITE: some experience with spindle turning tools
DURATION: 8 hours total, two Sunday morning sessions
TIME: Sunday mornings 10:00 pm to 2:00 pm
The Turning Plates and Bowls class, is open to all students, including those who have previously attended. During these sessions, participants will learn how to select appropriate wood, mount it on the chuck, and identify the correct tools for turning plates or bowls, with an emphasis on both technique and safety..
Gain practical experience in face plate turning and bowl making through our program.
