TOOLS: Lathe, gouges, grinder
EXERCISES: spindles , spatula, pen and rolling pin, etc.
DURATION: 8 hours over 2 sessions
The introductory lathe turning classes will cover theory and hands-on practice for various types of wood turning. Learn to shape spindles, sharpen tools, and the characteristics of wood grain while turning on a lathe. Safely explore this craft which is a mixture of feel and knowledge with linear objects. Students make a tapered rolling pin, a pen, and a cooking spatula. All materials provided, no experience required, please bring a snack/lunch as we take a nutrition break.
